La Marquesa Golf
Neatly located close to the city of Alicante, La Marquesa golf club, is an 18 holes golf club designed and founded in 1989 by D. Justo Quesada, under the name of “Quesada Golf Club”. In 1994 it changed its name to "La Marquesa Golf & Country club" and it is, today, the heart of the Ciudad Quesada urbanization, which is the result of an ambitious residential project by the Quesada family.
In April 2019, La Marquesa Golf began a plan to improve its greens with works that began to reform 6 of the 18 on the course and one of the fairways with everything that it involved: greens, irrigation system, etc. Five months of hard and intense work later, in September, just a month before the inauguration of the reformed tour, the DANA storm hit the south of Spain pretty hard and in the process it destroyed 70% of the total route, including the recently completed works.
With some amazing financial efforts the management team has accomplished the rebuilt, in record time, of the entire 6 holes that were underwater during eight long days. And so it was on the 1st of February of this year that the 18 holes were reopened again with the new course and all its improvements.
Located in a valley between mountains, its design without big slopes and with wide fairways makes playing in it very entertaining. It has a special microclimate that allows it to be played all year round thanks to its very pleasant temperatures. The palm tree predominates as an ornamental tree, since it’s one of the best suited for the local climate.
Its partners are of multiple nationalities, which make it a cosmopolitan field in perfect coexistence. During its years of existence the golf course has undergone important changes, both technical and design improvements, but always respecting the principle of offering a varied course.
