The lovely church in the town plaza “Nuestra Senora del Pilar' (Our lady of Pilar) replaced an older one but the original Bell Tower remains and there are many religious artefacts and beautiful religious paintings by local artists. Pilar, like other Spanish towns, has many fiestas and festivals throughout the year, the month of October is a continuous celebration of the Virgin Mary and the highlight is the floral tributes on 11th October. The sports centre in Pilar is fantastic, here you can take advantage of the Olympic size swimming pool, tennis and paddle courts and an Excellent Gym Sports Area Fitness Club.
